Bardhok Mala is a Bordurian miner and member of a gang that previously worked as illicit trade partners to the Death Eaters belonging to a remnant chapter of the Zyldav Zentral Revolutzionär Komitzät led by Roberto Raclaw, exchanging raw iron ore and unrefined gold nuggets with the group in return for payment. He and his friends continued to quarry precious metals, spreading rumors of a demonic incarnation of Catra D'Memirel in order to ensure they were left unbothered after discovering a new gold vein.

Biography[]

Dealings with the Z.Z.R.K.[]

Though not a wizard like some of his mates, Bardhok, along with the rest of the band of gold panners who worked for, mined for gold in the area surrounding the lawless prairie settlement known as the Town of Doom. Doom, once a populated by diggers before the gold supply died out, was therefore ungoverned by general law and became a den of criminals and hoodlums before finally, circumstances left only the returned miner gang present. Continuing to extract metal from the earth, the Gang secretly did deals with a chapter of the Dragon Lord's Death Eaters formed on the borderline between Syldavia and Borduria from a remnant of the Zyldav Zentral Revolutzionär Komitzät and in return for payment, Bardhok supplied the group's leader, Roberto Raclaw, with unrefined iron ore and gold he dug up, either not knowing or not caring that the minerals he supplied were being used to finance the remnant's plans against Borduria and Syldavia and construct the weaponry Raclaw intended to use in order to do it and indeed, the gang's diner was decorated with a few fliers containing propaganda of the Empire of Night. After the Z.Z.R.K. faction was exposed and destroyed, Bardhok's money supply dried up, but he and his gang remained in the Town of Doom.

Attempt to privately mine gold[]

Having discovered an untouched vein of gold in the process of their mining, Bardhok and the Gang, not wishing word to spread and herald the inevitable return of additional miners or natives, spread rumors that the Town of Doom had once been ruled by a terrifying criminal warlord named Catra D'Memirel, who's 'death' they claimed had left a curse of misfortune on the town, which the rumors declared was haunted by D'Memirel's ghost. Why exactly they chose the name of an authentic individual and United Hero is unknown, but given their former association with Death Eaters, who's forces had been dealt a severe blow by Catra previously, they might have known her name. Additionally, if this was so, given that Catra's presence had been absent from the enemy ranks of the United Alliance of Magical Races when the Z.Z.R.K. had been active at full strength, the gang might have believed her genuinely deceased. Bardhok Mala and his friends furthered the lie by having the town undertaker, who was their accomplice, construct a tombstone inscribed with Catra's name, and additionally, when a stagecoach passed through the Town of Doom, they imprisoned the passengers in the town jail and converted the coach and steeds to her own use, creating a faux dummy of Catra. The miners then had the stagecoach ride through nearby towns in the middle of the night, making it seem as if their rumors were true.

When a second stagecoach passed through, it's riders, including non-other than Catra D'Memirel herself, swiftly discovered and interrogated the undertaker and discovered the dummy, while the miners, determined to keep their fortune a private secret, resolved to imprison the newcomers, destroying the newcomer's coach, then sent one of their number to round up the trespassers. Upon seeing their friend disarmed by an arrow from the coach driver, the miners realized that the second coach included in its passengers Team Awesome and banded together to stop them. Armed not only with a pickaxe, but also with a sheathed in a belt holster, Bardhok flanked the left side of the advancing gang of wizards and muggles as they encircled the farmstead where Bow and Catra were located, but before he could attack, a shuriken thrown by Catra sliced off the pot chamber of his pipe and he recoiled and jumped slightly in fright, his grey cowboy hat flying from his bald scalp. Bardhok and the rest then instantly fled to save their skins while their activities were reported to the Wells Fargo and Company, which both stagecoaches Mala had hijacked, in addition to Princess Fader.
