Dean McAbin is a Canadian pure-blood dark wizard and former banker in the Kingdom of Syldavia. Seeking to establish a monopoly power over Contrecoeur Valley in order to enrich himself from the rail road construction the Syldavian government intended, McAbin was additionally the leader of a remnant faction of the Zyldav Zentral Revolutzionär Komitzät that he took to form the Maple Leaf Gang and therefore became a member of the Umbra Council, although his lack of any true commitment to the Dragon Lord and his cause, having instead joined the Death Eaters to enrich himself, led by McAbin being secretly looked down upon by his peers, who collectively despised him and ensured he was controlled by way of his second-in-command, Brat Garrett.
Dean McAbin therefore sought to purchase every business in Contrecoeur and used the Maple Leaf Gang to raid the supply lines of those that refused to sell. He was unable, however, to cajole the agreement of the Bombardier family and this ultimately gained him the suspicion of Blake Rainborn, who further investigated into McAbin's activities and rallied the town citizens against Dean, leading a raid on his McAbin that caused Brad to desert him. McAbin attempted to escape, but was confronted by Night Light, who then defeated him swiftly and handed him into the custody of the Royal Guard of Feodora with the other gangsters he commanded, who subsequently took Dean to face a trial that sentenced him to 263 years in prison for his crimes.
