Vespera Neci Folend was an ancient English pure-blood witch and one of the most horrific pieces of ancient wizarding history, her actions having made her responsible for the hostilities between wizardkind and the non-magic population that triggered creation of the Intentional Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. Seeking to understand how the Non-Magiques people could withstand the horrors of the bloodshed sustained in their medieval wars, Vespera, a noble at the time, captured many Muggles over the years and subjected them to experiments in the hopes of enabling the wizards of her time to become capable of withstanding the effect of such ruthlessness. Upon being exposed, Vespera Folend was captured and locked away in the dungeons of Lumenaria, while the leaders of the wizarding world at the time erased all records of her crimes from history, although their discission not to investigate the disappearances of those that Vespera had previously abducted for her tests led to the destruction of peace between the magical and non-magical, forcing wizards into hiding.
Imprisoned for centuries, Folend was eventually broken out by the combined efforts of Princess Darkness Magicar, Brant Alger, Gethen Odinsson, Orbweb and Ruy Ignis during a conference of magical beings and fled with them, being recruited into the Death Eaters, who she became a high-ranking member of, acting as one of the Order of Shadows that Darkness had formed. Having returned to her Nightfall Project, Vespera would hold William and Emma Foster imprisoned there on the orders of her new allies and therefore encounter Sunset Foster and her friends when they raided Nightfall, working with Fintan Pyren and severely injuring Yellow Amarillo del Bosque Verde in the process, leaving the latter with permanent scars. Having been defeated, Vespera proceeded to agree reluctantly to a triumvirate alliance with Darkness and Gisela Sencen, pledging her continued allegiance to the Dragon Lord despite their differing beliefs and escaping with them.
Vespera subsequently sought next to expose Luzia Vacker's alliance with the trolls to the wizarding world in an act of revenge for how the Vackers had received centuries of recognition, while she had been forgotten, using Alvar Vacker to enter the family property in order to enter the property in an attack launched by herself, Umber, Ruy Ignis, Alvar and Gether Odinsson. The attack turned to chaos, when the infant trolls were unleashed and went rogue, killing Umber, who Vespera shamelessly abandoned with Ruy and Gethen, disapparating away with the two and later casting Alvar from the Death Eaters in rage. Later, she and Odinsson participated in the Battle for Loamnore, she and Gethen sparking chaos, then fleeing.
Discontent, Vespera and Darkness then decided to usurp power from their third ally, removing Gisela from the Death Eaters, fearing the danger she would pose if her plans continued, and Vespera thus took advantage of an arranged meeting between Trix and Rayni Aria and Sunset's team to approach her, proposing a temporary alliance between the two groups to defeat Gisela, which was eventually accepted. Taking Sunset Foster and her team to Elysian in hopes of acquiring the power to stop Gisela, they were suddenly confronted by the Sencen matriarch, who revealed to them that she was not only in an alliance with Empress Pernille, but also with Darkness, who was playing both witches, then summoned for a volley of crystal shards that crushed her rival before Folend could react, killing her instantly and bringing centuries of evil to a final end.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Born during the Middle Ages, presumably somewhere in the ninth century, the pure-blood family that conceived Vespera Neci Folend hailed from the lands that would later become the "Kingdom of England" after its unification during 954 AD. Lacking any formal place for education for their child, Vespera was presumably homeschooled in how to perform magic, but this is presently unconfirmed, although she became a highly talented witch, regardless of her education. At some point, Vespera crafted a wand for herself that was hewn from elderberry and with a tail feather that she had taken from a phoenix. She thus became one of the rare few wizards to have used a wand made from elder, which was the rarest and most infamous of wand woods.
From the earliest stages of the fifteenth century, hostilities between the wizarding people and their non-magical neighbours had begun to escalate.
